Natural immune support grocery list must-haves

Natural Immune Support | Well + Easy

I get these items from the grocery store every time I need a natural immune support boost. If you’re curious about the things you should always keep in stock during cold and flu season or anytime you’re feeling slightly under the weather, these would be the items.

Natural Immune Support | Well + Easy

Go-to healthy foods for natural immune support any time

» Lemons. Lemons are high in Vitamin C which helps neutralize the free radicals in our body and thus supports our immune system. Lemons are also antimicrobial and help fight against bacteria. Buy | Organic Lemon Juice

» Ginger. You can purchase ginger in many forms and still receive wonderful benefits. There’s fresh ginger, ginger extract, and ginger powder. Ginger is a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Ginger has also be shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in the body. Buy | Ginger Extract or Ginger Powder

» Green tea. Green is the best tea when it comes to natural immune support. It contains many nutrients and is rich in polyphenols which help reduce inflammation. Green tea is flooded with antioxidants that fight free radicals, and catechins which can inhibit the growth of bacteria. I like to drink 2-3 cups per day. Buy | Organic Green Tea

» Turmeric. Turmeric contains curcumin, and it’s a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. While it’s not enough to get such a high dose of cur cumin from turmeric spice alone, you can still use turmeric often to get some benefits. For a “heavier” dosage, go for curcumin extract. Buy | Organic Turmeric

» Raw Honey. Raw honey, meaning it’s never been heated (heating can destroy vital nutrients), is my go-to sweetener for colder months and spring time. It’s also filled antioxidants and has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. I recommend buying local whenever possible. Buy | Raw Honey

» Bone broth. The broth my family loves to hate. Made by simmering the bones from animals, bone broth is high in minerals, the same minerals needed for your body. It also contains collagen and amino acids which are anti-inflammatory. I recommend frozen bone broth for the freshest form unless you decide to make it yourself! Buy | Bone Broth (myfavorite brand)

A healthy + tasty immune support tea

  • Steep 1 cup of green tea
  • Add 1 tbs of lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp of ginger (juice, powder, or extract)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric (juice, powder, or extract)
  • And add 1 tbs of raw honey

As you can see, natural immune support means providing your body foods that are abundant in nutrients. The go-to items listed above are high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and naturally combat inflammation by neutralizing the body. Balancing the alkaline / acidity within will help our cells fight for us and create an environment where toxins cannot live. Make sure to grab these items and keep on hand throughout the year as you never know when you’ll need them.
