Hi there, I’m Jen, and this is how I live low GI.
I didn’t coming to the low glycemic diet because of any health issues. As a nutrition student, studying hundreds of dietary theories, I landed on Low GI for two reasons:
It made the most sense for the human body as everything is centered around blood glucose
It was the underlying science behind all major fad diets out there. In one way or another most diets work to help you stabilize glucose
But why?
Well that’s what I’m here to show you.
Living Low GI is transitioning to my daily archive of how I live this lifestyle and how I’ve helped thousands of women since 2011 do the same.
That said, you’re going to love it around here, I hope.
If you’re choosing low GI for any reason, you’re in the right place.

So who am I?
My name is Jen Polk. I’m a certified nutritionist and integrative nutrition health coach. Those are my credentials, but on a regular basis I’m a mom and wife and live near the ocean in Northern California.
What do I do?
I developed a framework over a decade ago called the Whole GI Protocol. It takes the principles of the glycemic index and the glycemic load and sort of marries them together. With a ton of trial and error and experience with real women, the protocol took shape into what it is today. It’s a wonderfully effective and simple set of principles that you can live each day for steady blood sugar, steady weight, and steady energy. It supports the four root causes of glucose imbalance: sleep, inflammation, hormones, stress & cortisol.
One thing to know about me is I like simplification and ease. I like this for myself and for my clients. I have worked and tested tirelessly to build a framework that targets multiple issues at once while being so simple to follow that a successful and meaningful outcome becomes inevitable.
Multiple conditions can be complicated but the solution to supporting those conditions doesn’t have to be. I truly believe if we can forget most of what we know about dieting and go back to basics, our bodies, our health, and our lives would change for the better.

Jen
